Online video software vendor VMIX is pitching its newest product as a way to create movie streaming rentals on Facebook.
This pitch for VMIX Social is timely considering how Warner Brothers began streaming rental videos on Facebook March 8 and yesterday increased the selection of movies to six.
“We believe Facebook is ready for video that holds true value, and we think Facebook users are beginning to demand content they can love instead of like,” VMIX Chief Executive Officer Pat Burns said in a press release. “Studios can now transform Facebook fan pages into destination sites for browsing, renting and sharing premium video. These Facebook stores deliver full-length features and TV series capable of turning your fans into paying customers and valued viral promoters.”
The VMIX product is intended for media studios and distributors, and includes copyright protection features.
- Integration with paywalls, including ones on social networks
- Live and on-demand video streaming of full-length features and TV series
- Fine control over video rights management and distribution
- Robust, easy-to-use application programming interfaces to build interactive video galleries for promoting content in Facebook
