Vimeo iPhone App Gets An Upgrade & A Tutorial

Just under a month ago Vimeo launched their first official iPhone app and, like all apps, it was bound to have a few little bugs. This week Vimeo is launching the new version of their iPhone app—Version 1.0.2, which fixes a bunch of the problems. They’re also drawing attention to a 9-minute long tutorial video, which shows users how to use the new Vimeo iPhone app to it’s fullest potential. Read on to find out more about the upgrades and check out the tutorial below. Lets start with the updates, which were announced last night on the Vimeo blog: One of the most-requested features from Vimeo app users was an added search in the Browse tab. You’ll find this feature in Version 1.0.2. They have also fixed an issue that makes the camera roll appear empty when a user opts out of Location Services. Vimeo’s Andrew Pile says that this has been made clearer in the new version. Finally, there was an issue in the original version where volume was muted when the ringer was set to mute. This is no longer an issue. According to Pile, they’ve also "made big progress with overall memory usage and stability, fixing several major bugs including a really annoying one that prevented people from exporting to the camera roll." These are the updates that have been made thus far, but according to the blog post, Vimeo is constantly working to improve the app and has a lot of updates and new ideas planned for the future, including support for other devices.
