Veteran Imus Newsman/Sidekick Charles McCord Retiring Next Month
Johnny Carson had Ed McMahon, Michael Jordan had Scottie Pippen, and for the better part of the last 40 years Don Imus has had Charles McCord.
The veteran newsman/sidekick for the Imus in the Morning show officially announced his retirement, effective May 6. It was first reported by the Daily News this morning.
By the time the story hit newsstands, Imus was already discussing his longtime collaborator’s future. He said that McCord was looking forward to spending more time with his family.
