Verizon Wireless Launches Three Media Apps

Verizon_VCAST_Sideways.jpgVerizon Wireless hit the ground running at this year’s CTIA IT and Entertainment Expo, launching three offerings that allow subscribers to share content and stay in contact with their friends, RCR Wireless News reports.

First up is SocialLife, a $1.50-a-month application that connects users to social networking-oriented media sites including MySpace, FaithBase, Photobucket, Rabble and MTV Tr3s. Users can also upload photos to the service with a single click from their cell phones, the report said.

Next, the carrier introduced the Buzzwire-powered, a channel of streaming video of content culled from Vcast Video that can be shared via Twitter and other sites. This one is long overdue, since Verizon’s V CAST service has been locked down all this time, only working on certain handsets. It’s not everything, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Finally, the report said the company launched Ringback Buddies, an offering that allows Facebook users to browse, buy and manage their ringback tones on the popular site.
