USA Today Announces Layoffs, "Radical" Restructure

In an attempt to switch the emphasis away from the print edition of USA Today, the paper announced a major restructuring plan in an effort to ramp up its mobile content. The plan calls for 130 layoffs this fall.

“This is pretty radical,” said USA Today Publisher Dave Hunke to the Associated Press. “This gets us ready for our next quarter century.”

USA Today has suffered in recent years, like most papers, as advertising revenue continues to shrink and people buy fewer papers.
