United State Mint Rebrands with Shiny New Logo and Box Sets

Outside of what we use to feed meters and buy penny candy, we’ll admit we don’t know a thing about the United States Mint other than that they make those shiny pieces of metal. That’s apparently the problem they’ve been having and they’ve hired branding firm Siegel + Gale to fix it. Launching a new branding campaign called “Connecting America Through Coins” (pdf), the firm has focused their first efforts on both a new logo, featuring a mid-air flipped coin, and redesigning the Mint’s Annual Sets, annual collections of coins that are “a significant portion of [the Mint]’s retail business.”
