United Makes Skies Friendlier for iPhones

If you’ve been waiting for a good excuse to download a couple movies to your iPod or iPhone, United Airlines can provide you with one. The airline is reconfiguring its entire fleet of international planes with on-demand entertainment and iPod/iPhone connectivity for its first- and business-class customers.

Although it will take two years for all the aircraft to be refitted, the first plane with all the new features is taking its first flight this week.

If you prefer to bring your own entertainment rather than watch any of the 150 hours of on-demand movies and TV shows, United provides a cable that connects an iPod or iPhone to the plane’s in-flight entertainment system so you can watch your stored content on the seat’s 15.4-inch
