Unions, Celebrities Band Together for Annual Labor Day Tweet-a-Thon

What can you say about unions in 140 characters? Scores of celebrities have signed up to participate in the annual Labor Day Tweet-a-Thon and support the cause of unions by tweeting with the hashtag #unionmember during the holiday weekend.

What can you say about unions in 140 characters? Scores of celebrities have signed up to participate in the annual Labor Day Tweet-a-Thon and support the cause of unions by tweeting with the hashtag #unionmember during the holiday weekend.

The annual event was created by worker’s rights group American Rights at Work, the Major League Baseball Players Association, the National Football League Players Association, Actors’ Equity, the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors, the Screen Actors Guild, and the Writers Guild of America, East.

During Labor Day Weekend, the #unionmember website will display tweets from participating celebrities, as well as union members and supporters who include the hashtag.

Among those participating: Toronto Blue Jays right fielder and reigning MLB home run champion José Bautista (@JoeyBats19), KCBS reporter Bob Butler (@BobButler7), ABC Family Make It or Break It star Candace Cameron Bure (@CandaceBure), actress and Beverly Hills, 90210 star Gabrielle Carteris (@TheGabrielle_C), singer/songwriter Rosanne Cash (@RosanneCash), Baltimore Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth (@foxworth24), writer/comedian Jon Friedman (@friedmanjon), USA Network Covert Affairs star Christopher Gorham (@Chris_Gorham), AMC Breaking Bad star R.J.
