Eight in 10 (78 percent) of UK television viewers do something else whilst watching their favourite shows, with social media amongst the leading activities, reveals new data from the United Kingdom.

A British Telecom survey discovered that 36 percent of UK viewers are active on social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook whilst watching TV, which finished third overall behind checking email (47 percent) and browsing shopping websites (37 percent).

Searching for news (30 percent) and playing games (24 percent) were also popular with viewers.
