Ubisoft Launches Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker on iOS, Android

To coincide with the launch of Far Cry 4 on PC and home consoles, Ubisoft has launched a mobile companion app for the title: Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker. The game is available on iOS and Android devices, and connects to a user’s Uplay account to enable transferring money from the mobile experience to the main game. While Far Cry 4 Arcade Poker is technically a game about poker, it’s not the traditional table game one might expect. Instead, the game sees cards falling from the top of the screen, as users tap and drag these cards to position them in such a way as to create a line of five cards that result in specific hand objectives. The game is level based, and each level has a different objective, like creating a hand with a single pair or three of a kind, among others. Players aren’t limited to creating just that hand, however. So long as their hand is better than the objective, they’ll earn money and, if the hand is good enough, cards to create extra hands that can be spent to earn even more money before the level actually ends. For instance, if the level asks players to create a three of a kind, but they create a four of a kind instead, they earn more cards for two extra hands. Each extra hand can be created with any goal in mind, all for the sake of earning extra chips. If players aren’t receiving the proper cards for the hand(s) they have in mind (which is likely), they can tap on a falling card to flip it and receive another. Cards won’t stop falling though, so gamers need to make decisions (and tap) quickly before cards fall into their hand anyway. Power-ups are unlocked over time, like a rewind power that helps players “undo” a flip if they accidentally shuffled away a card they needed. Other powers include the ability to have friends' faces (via Facebook connectivity) on wild cards. At the end of each level, players see their own score compared with their friends’ on level-specific leaderboards. As players accumulate winnings, they can cash this money out to the main Far Cry 4 game on console and PC via a button on the level menu.
