Two Thirds of US Public Libraries Now Offer eBooks
The American Library Association has released its yearly State of America’s Libraries, in conjunction with National Library Week, April 10-16, 2011. The report is compiled from data provided by libraries as well as a phone survey of 1,011 US adults.
The report has interesting details like:
- 85% of libraries now provide free Wifi
- Public schools have cut library spending an average of 9% this year
- Virtually all academic libraries offer eBooks
- A third of school libraries lend eReaders
