Twitter Will Tighten Up Enforcement of Guidelines on Chats During Live Videos

Accounts that repeatedly violate Periscope Community Guidelines will be reviewed, suspended

Twitter is taking steps to ensure safety in chats during live videos on the social network and its Periscope application.

Twitter said in a blog post that its Periscope Community Guidelines apply to live videos on both platforms.

People on Twitter and Periscope can already report and vote on chats that they feel are abusive, with group moderation determining whether potential offenders can continue chatting.

Starting Aug. 10, accounts that repeatedly violate the guidelines in chats during live videos will be reviewed and suspended, and Twitter said in its blog post, “If you are in a broadcast and see a chat that may violate our guidelines, please report it.”
