Twitter Updates Its Login Page In The Wake Of Its IPO Announcement

Perhaps a sign of the Twitter IPO’s subtle effects on the company’s future direction, Twitter has updated its homepage, tweaking the visual design and welcome text that people see when first encountering the service, reports AllThingsD.

The new landing page is more practical rather than aesthetically driven. Take a look at the changes, below.

The new welcome text reads, “Start a conversation, explore your interests, and be in the know.”

The old: “Find out what’s happening, right now, with the people and organizations you care about.”

As AllThingsD points out, the new copy explains how the company wants users to use Twitter: start conversations with friends, strangers, brands, and other account holders.

Graphically, the updated login page lost the sunrise image and now displays two smartphones with Twitter’s mobile app pulled up. Making a mobile push, much?

The old

The new

Seems like Twitter is doing more and more to make itself uber-user-friendly, at least in its own opinion, for new users and those who’ve signed up but aren’t using their account.
