Twitter Gets Googlish With Search Results

In a move reminiscent of Google’s ‘Search Plus Your World,’ Twitter announced today that its now offering ‘People you follow’ search results.

Prepare to be underwhelmed.

Twitter’s announcement today is really a non-announcement as it heavily references previously introduced functionalities like related query suggestions, spelling corrections and more relevant search results, which we told you about in May.

Outside of the addition of ‘People you follow’ to the mix, here’s the big news:

Search autocomplete shows you the most likely terms for your query as you enter it — especially useful if you’re trying to follow the hashtag for an event or you’re looking for a certain Twitter account.
