Twitter Exec to Get White House Nod as Privacy Officer

Nicole Wong will serve as senior advisor to chief technology officer

President Obama is set to name Nicole Wong, Twitter's legal director, the White House's first Internet privacy officer.

In the new position, Wong will serve as a senior advisor to chief technology officer, Todd Park, according to CNET, which first reported the news. 

The White House did not respond to a request to confirm the appointment.

Prior to joining Twitter last year, Wong worked at Google for for eight years as vp and deputy general counsel, where she handled privacy, security, copyright issues and reviewed copyright takedown requests for the Internet giant.
