Twitter Buying TweetDeck: Are TweetDeck's iPhone & Android Apps Toast?
TechCrunch reports that:
Twitter To Buy TweetDeck For $40 Million – $50 Million
TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington reports that this purchase is a defensive one against UberMedia which owns UberSocial for BlackBerry (and iPhone), Twidroyd for Android and Echofon for iPhone. Echofon is also available for the Mac and as a addon for the Firefox browser.
The question is: What will Twitter do now that it owns both Tweetie (the source of the official Twitter for iPhone app) and TweetDeck which has its own iPhone Twitter app.
