Twitter Ads Now Available in 11 New Countries, Including Italy, Mexico, Belgium and the Netherlands

Twitter’s expanding its international advertising program in a big way. Last month the platform granted 12 new markets access to its suite of self-service promotional products, including Promoted Tweets and Promoted Accounts, and this week Twitter has added 11 new territories across Europe and Latin America.

The countries include Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands in Europe, and Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru in Latin America.

“Over the last year, thousands of small- and medium-sized businesses have used Twitter Ads to engage their customers in real-time conversations, drive website traffic, generate leads and close sales,” writes Richard Alfonsi, VP of Global Online Sales at Twitter. “Today’s announcement will help even more businesses to achieve their marketing goals with Twitter by expanding our self-service ad offerings to a total of 20 countries.”

Twitter ads made their debut in 2010. The platform recent unveiled a new interface and in August Twitter launched its latest product, Promoted Video.
