Tweeting Indian Politician Forced to Resign
In January, WebNewser reported on an interview The New York Times conducted with Indian Parliament member and then-junior minister of foreign affairs Shashi Tharoor about his use of Twitter and the controversy it was causing.
Now, sister blog Social Times reports that Tharoor’s use of the microblogging service came back to bite him, as he was forced to resign as minister of state for external affairs amid allegations of improperly using his influence as a politician for personal gain (although the allegations were not directly related to Twitter use).
