Spanish Startup Tweet Category Rolls Out A New Twitter Analytics iPad App

There are lots of valuable tools that help maximize the role of social media in events, from Livefyre NewsHubs to Google+ hangouts to chatter tracking tools like Hashtracking and Storify.

Spanish startup Tweet Category is throwing another one in the mix, with the launch of their spiffy new iPad app that generates customized Twitter reports for events, measuring complete statistics for tweets and hashtags, including user influence, engagement, reach and more.

The Tweet Category app, $3.99, is looking to target professional tweeters like event organizers, community managers, and social media experts.

The event stats that the app provides on who’s tweeting, how frequently and how many impressions each tweet generates, plus the attractive dashboard in which the info is delivered, aren’t the cool part.

That would be the “category” angle. Tweet Category automatically sorts all that Twitter data into categories: positive, negative, irrelevant, quotes, links. You can generate automatic categories or create your own from scratch.

It’s definitely an interesting approach. You can also download up to 1,500 tweets onto your iPad and work offline.

And even though the service is targeted at social media events, you can use it for other purposes as well. Exhibit A: the Tweet Category team used their software to create an analysis of the reception on Twitter of Bon Jovi’s new single Because We Can:
