Travel Industry Ripe With Opportunity For Social Media Mavens

The travel industry spends more of its marketing budget on online initiatives than any other industry, according to a new white paper from HSMAI and online marketing services company Vizergy.

Nearly two-thirds of that budget is allocated to search engine marketing, but at the same time, social is growing. For example, 70 percent of hotels monitor online reviews posted about them on a weekly basis, and half actively encourage their guests to leave reviews.
