Your Smartphone Is Now a Town Hall, Thanks to Facebook

The Town Hall feature is accessible via the More menu of Facebook's mobile app

Facebook’s newest feature turns your mobile device into a virtual Town Hall.

The Town Hall feature began appearing in the More menu of the flagship Facebook application, and it provides a one-stop shop for following and contacting elected officials at the local, state and federal level.

Clicking on Town Hall brings up a prompt for users to enter their addresses, which Facebook says it will not display or share.

When that step is completed, the social network brings up a list of local, state and federal officials, as well as options to follow them on Facebook or contact them.

Depending on the options available from each elected official, the contact button allows users to get in touch with officials via phone, email, Facebook Messenger, or their pages.
