Top Ad Sales Position at Money Named

Tony Haskel had been Fortune executive sales director

Following last month’s restructuring of Time Inc.’s publishing ranks, in which Fortune and CNNMoney publisher Jed Hartman was given the newly created role of group publisher of news and business, Fortune executive sales director Tony Haskel has been promoted to vp, advertising sales at Money, making him the magazine's top sales exec.

Haskel replaces former Money publisher Brendan Ripp, who was named vp of sales for Fortune last month. Under the new structure, each title no longer has its own publisher, but a senior sales executive who reports directly to Hartman.

Haskel previously served as Money’s New York advertising director from 1995 until 2006. Afterwards, he held various positions including advertising director at Condé Nast’s now-defunct Portfolio and national advertising director at Bonnier Mountain Group, before returning to Time Inc. in 2010 as executive sales director for Fortune.

According to Hartman’s email announcing Haskel's appointment, Haskel is also notable for being “an expert skier, an intermediate words-with-friends player and a horrible Bruce Springsteen impersonator.”
