Tools Round Up: Samsung Tablet, Ning, Facebook, Vitrue, and Flacklist

Mashable reports that Samsung has announced a March 22 event where it could be unveiling a new 8.9-inch version of its tablet, the Galaxy Tab.

Ning has launched Mogwee, a digital tool for mobile platforms (right now, that’s just iPhones, the iPod Touch, and iPads).  The tool allows one-on-one conversations using the app without having to “friend” them. TechCrunch has done a test.

Update: Facebook has acquired Beluga, a group messaging services. In a statement, Facebook said that Beluga will remain in operation “for now,” but there will be more info in the coming weeks. [via TechCrunch.]

Atlanta-based Vitrue is opening a Cincinnati office this month and hiring up to 10 workers, including software developers. The social media company just announced millions in funding and its intentions to hire as many as 150 employees.

FlackList, a relationship management tool for publicists, journalists, and sources, has launched in beta. The tool serves as a “real-time Rolodex” and social community.
