Too Long?

A FishbowlDC reader writes in to wonder if this week’s Washington City Paper cover story on American University’s cross country team, which clocks in at 7,000+ words, is a City Paper record.

“I feel bad for the copy editor,” the reader points out. “Isn’t there a better use of space?”

What do you think? Too long? Or exactly the kind of long-form journalism that this city needs more of?
