Today in Bigotry: FDNY Sends Bill to 'Unknown Asian'
I sure as hell hope that is this dude’s name. Otherwise, we are looking at some borderline racism and dunderheadedness of the highest order by the New York Fire Department (FDNY) . Said FDNY sent out a demand for payment addressed only to the unfortunate “unknown Asian” after EMS workers filled in sketchy patient information for a $784 ambulance ride.
And that’s for a two-mile ride. Nice.
“I hesitated to open it but then I was like, ‘Well, I could be an unknown Asian,’” said Christine Ahn, 29, who works in the dean’s office at Parsons The New School for Design.
