To Do Tonight

Rock out with Reuters’ Capitol Hill Reporter Andy Sullivan.

    DC Rockers:

Very special show this Friday: Andy and his Liberation Orchestra are playing with the mighty Ben Connelly, touring from Minneapolis to promote his new CD.

Andy and Ben spent the 1990s together in moldy barrooms, vans and basements as leaders of alt-country barroom warriors Steeplejack. Ben has released three solo CDs since then featuring his soulful songs and virtuoso fingerpicking. His latest, ” Over You,” is his best yet.

The Orchestra will back Ben for a few songs, and Andy and Ben will probably play a few together as well.

We’ll also celebrate/mourn sax man Dave Sislen’s first onstage appearance as a married man. Sorry, ladies.

WHAT: Andy Sullivan and his Liberation Orchestra, with Ben Connelly
WHERE: Velvet Lounge, 915 U St NW DC (near U St metro stop)
    WHEN: Friday, Oct 6 Andy 9:30 p.m. Ben 10:30 p.m.

New CD Private Wars available through iTunes and CDBaby
