TiVo for your radio? Sooner than you think...

Sirius satellite radio today announced that it has settled some nagging complaints from the three major record labels: Universal, Warner and Sony BMG Music.

But as the AP notes, “terms were not disclosed.” We imagine there’s reason for that, and that the reason is that its a fairly hefty freight charge to carry at a company that’s alredy bleeding massive red ink: Sirius lost $311.4 million in the fourth quarter of last year alone.

So the question is, Will the cost of settling up with the labels outstrip the revenue to be gotten by allowing you to Tivo your radio? The answer should come in a year’s time.
