Time Talks to Tim Cook
"To invent what they [the FBI] want me to invent puts millions of people at risk," said Cook.
Time’s latest cover story features an in-depth conversation with Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Cook is currently battling with the FBI over its demand that Apple unlock an encrypted iPhone that belonged to one of the San Bernardino shooters. He discusses the matter openly with Time.
“We see that this is our moment to stand up and say, stop and force a dialogue,” Cook explained. “There’s been too many times that government is just so strong and so powerful and so loud that they really just limit or they don’t hear the discourse.”
“Think about the things that are on people’s phones,” continued Cook.
