Throwing A Shout-out To…Calvin Coolidge?

Courtesy of Inside the Beltway, we learn that columnist Cal Thomas hosted a fundraiser last night to go toward the founding of a Calvin Coolidge presidential library.

That’s right, Calvin Coolidge. The one-and-a-half term president that assumed office in 1923 after the death of Warren G. Harding.

From the article:

    Why Coolidge?

“Coolidge is the last president not to have his own library, and we think it’s time he did, given the Republican principles in which he believed and practiced that today’s Republicans would do well to reconsider,” Mr. Thomas told Inside the Beltway yesterday.

Perhaps more columnists will be inspired to start stumping for libraries to commemorate our lesser-known presidents. We can only hope to see the day when Maureen Dowd is lobbying for John Tyler and Ann Coulter is pushing for William Henry Harrison.
