Okay. Stop me if you have heard this one: A cop is hungry so he drives as fast as he can to the local donut shop and…
We know. It’s a stereotype even older than “white people can’t dance” or “journalists drink coffee all day every day.“
Having worked for a police department for six great years, we can tell you that Krispy Kreme never sponsored any related fundraisers. Not even a grocery store deli offer to make their cheap, knock-off glazed doorstops for the boys and girls in blue. Nonetheless, police officers do adore donuts.
And then a cop from South Jersey set the entire force back a decade or two.
In short: police crusier meets Dunkin’ Donuts; fireworks ensue.
The police SUV crashed into the Dunkin’ Donuts shop along White Horse Pike in Berlin, New Jersey just before 11 a.m. Winslow Township Police said the SUV crashed into the building after colliding with another car.
According to WCAU NBC-10 in Philadelphia (because everyone in New Jersey was laughing too hard to report on this one), the unidentified Winslow Township Police officer “suffered minor injuries, according to investigators. The other driver refused treatment.”
Texting and driving? Jonesin’ for a chocolate glaze? Heard about a sale? No word yet; however, the important thing is that no customers or employees inside the store reported any injuries.
So yes, you can giggle.
