TheWeedTube Will Spark Up Its iOS and Android Apps on 4/20

The video platform was founded last March by cannabis creators who were kicked off YouTube

If you’re going to release an application featuring videos from cannabis-focused content creators, there couldn’t possibly be a more appropriate day to do so than April 20.

TheWeedTube is marking the date that the cannabis community treats as a virtual national holiday with the debut of its new iOS and Android apps, as well as a redesign of its website.

The app includes push notifications to alert users when creators they follow post new videos, and it enables creators to share their content to various social platforms directly via the app.

TheWeedTube debuted last March after being created by a group of people who saw their cannabis-focused accounts deleted by YouTube without warnings or explanations, and it bills itself as the first video-driven social site to provide monetization options for cannabis influencers, as well as the first to offer them commercial-style advertising.
