#TheLakersAreSoWhite Reaches Primetime Meme Status
ESPN writer J.A. Adande’s latest column has officially bestowed superstar meme status on the Twitter hashtag #TheLakersAreSoWhite. For weeks, Lakers fans couldn’t help but notice that even with Mike Brown as the first black head coach in team history, the rest of the Lakers are looking a little ’86 Celtics. (Except for the whole greatest-team-in-NBA-history thing. Sorry, this Fishie grew up in Boston.) Luke Walton, Steve Blake, Jason Kapono, Josh McRoberts and Troy Murphy are all white as Wonderbread–not to mention Pau Gasol, who may be Spanish, but is as pale as they come.
