The Weather Channel Interactive, Frommer’s Team Up

TWCiFrommersDestinationGuide.jpgWant to know the “Best Time to Visit” someplace? Now it’s one click away thanks to a partnership between The Weather Channel Interactive and Frommer’s Unlimited.

The two parties teamed up on Destination Guides, which they described as a one-stop shop for travel planning, with weather.com using Frommer’s information on more than 150 cities and nearly 150 countries and states with reviews of hotels, attractions and restaurants and up to 50 articles on each destination. The sections also include attractions targeted toward children and a currency calculator.

The Best Time to Visit section uses TWCi’s patented method for climate-based recommendations, detailing the warmest, coldest, driest and wettest months, as well as average temperatures and average rainy, sunny and cloudy days for U.S. destinations.

Frommer’s parent Wiley director of e-business development Craig Schickler said:

We are excited to work with such a respected and trustworthy partner as The Weather Channel. Combining Frommer’s expert travel advice with TWCi’s accurate weather information creates a powerful, one-stop travel resource to meet consumers’ vacation-planning needs.

TWCi vice president of product strategy and development Monisha Longacre added:

The partnership with Frommer’s and The Weather Channel brings together the most trusted name in travel and the most trusted name in weather to provide a great travel resource for consumers. Whether they are planning for or dreaming about a trip, we can tell them the best time to visit and provide all the tools they need to enjoy every minute of it.
