The Tribune Co. Enters the Social Media Consulting Business

The Tribune Co. will create a new consulting group that will sell the company’s social media expertise. And, they are hiring a few employees to fill the 10-person squad.

Called 435 Digital Services, it’s an opportunity to capitalize on the Tribune’s social media efforts and profiting off small businesses’ lack of social media marketing knowledge.

As Crain’s Chicago Business reports, the plan grew out of the Tribune‘s Chicago Now blog initiative. While working with small and mid-size businesses, the group talked to many business owners that knew they needed to advertise with social media, but lacked the knowledge to do so.

And the group will be hiring a few people, according to the Chicago Business report.
