The Open Library Adds Smashwords eBooks to its Collection
The Open Library, a spinoff project of the Internet Archive, has just purchased its first eBooks from Smashw0rds. A grand total of 87 titles were included in the first purchase with titles ranging from Union of Renegades by Tracy Falbe to The Wrecking Crew by Mark Chisnell.
eBooks can be checked out from The Open Library for a period of 2 weeks. Unfortunately, this means that Smashwords eBooks now have DRM. It’s built into the system that the Open Library licensed from Overdrive, the digital library service.
