The Onion Sports Network to Become a Comedy Central Show
Uproariously funny fake newspaper The Onion is turning its Onion Sports Network into a series for Comedy Central, the cable channel announced today.
The 10-episode series is scheduled to premiere in the first quarter of 2011. The Onion CEO Steve Hannah quipped in a statement, “The Onion Sports Network teaming up with COMEDY CENTRAL? If I were ESPN, I’d consider a whole new line of work.”
In late March, the IFC Channel picked up another Onion property, the equally fictional Onion News Network, which lampoons TV news.
Seems like things have really turned around for the tongue-in-cheek media firm, which in February jettisoned
