The New York Times Reports On OTR White House Lunch It Declined To Attend

Just because The New York Times chose to decline the White House’s invitation to a special, off-the-record luncheon attended by members of the media, doesn’t mean they won’t report on how the luncheon, ostensibly an olive branch extended to beat reporters who have long expressed displeasure over their lack of White House access, might be a case of “too little, too late:”

Martha Joynt Kumar, a professor at Towson University, who tracks Mr. Obama’s interactions with the media, has noted that the president has appeared in front of White House reporters fewer times than his predecessors did.
