Paul Croughton was named the newest editor of luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Report.

“I think it’s a really good time to take over, it’s a really interesting time to take over,” Croughton, a journalist for nearly 20 years, said. “The magazine has a great heritage and it has great authority. The role now is just to expand on that and give it a little attitude—a little London attitude, perhaps.”

Croughton, a former partner and editor at London-based creative and digital agency Brave New World, was the founding editor of Robb Report UK in 2016.

“We’re energized and excited by Paul’s fresh perspective, as well as his unwavering commitment to best-in-class storytelling and content creation,” Jay Penske, chairman and CEO of Robb Report parent company Penske Media Corporation, said in a statement. “And it’s quite the opportune time for Paul to take the editorial reins as Robb Report celebrates 30 years of its signature Best of the Best franchise this month.”

Founded in 1976, Robb Report, which now has 18 international editions as well as the U.S. edition, boasts a global circulation of more than 700,000.

After 17 years at the helm of Robb Report, Brett Anderson resigned at the end of March as editor in chief to pursue his interests in wine and hospitality.

Croughton is expected to start his new position from NYC in July.

“I think whenever anyone has been at the helm of a newspaper or magazine or any piece of media that long, the person who takes over then has an opportunity to refresh things a little bit,” Croughton said. “We’ll probably be looking to do that.”
