The Longest Yard Football Classic

In case you missed it…

At last night’s Longest Yard Football Classic, where Members of Congress played flag football against the Capitol Police to benefit the Capitol Police Memorial Fund (the event is sponsored by Roll Call), the Capitol Police trounced the Members 28-0 at Eastern High School. Even though the Members couldn’t end their losing streak, the game is expected to raise approximately $30,000 for the Capitol Police Memorial Fund. The game featured former NFL quarterback (and Redskin) Heath Shuler on the offense for the Congressional team as well as a spirited performance by Eastern High School’s award-winning marching band.
