The Kojo Nnamdi Show Shrinks to One Hour

The show will drop its second half beginning Jan. 25.

Beginning Jan. 25, WAMU’s The Kojo Nnamdi Show will drop the second hour of its radio show and will air weekdays from noon to 1 p.m. ET, announced host Kojo Nnamdi on the show’s blog.

Nnamdi writes that the change will allow the show to focus on local and regional issues; the second hour of the show covers national and international issues.

The show’s dual personality came at a time when the second hour was distributed around the country. That ended some years ago and now we want to launch a new approach to local news. The new one-hour Kojo Nnamdi Show will allow me and my production team to focus on what we do best: convening discussion on critical regional issues.

The show has been hosted by Nnamdi since 1998 and was given its eponymous title in 2002.
