FBLA is all about the foodie news. Local food writer and get this–police detective–with the made-for-lower thirds name of Chris Cognac will host The Hungry Detective for Food Network, starting in October.
Cognac has had a show on KCRW, and been an Iron Chef judge, in addition to his day job for the Hawthorne PD.
Food Network has also stolen Nigella Lawson away from Style, and in general seems to be moving away from the determinely low-brow fare of recent years that had real foodies lambasting
