The Facebook Journalism Project Is Teaming Up With Storyful to Train Reporters and Editors

The social media literacy curriculum includes determining user-generated content’s authenticity

Storyful developed the training to help journalists understand how information flows across social platforms, how social user-generated content can fill gaps in the newsgathering process, how to determine the authenticity of that UGC and commonly used tactics for spreading fake news online.

Facebook global strategic initiatives lead for news partnerships Julia Bain said in a release, “Storyful is doing great work contextualizing and verifying social media content for newsrooms.
