The Economist Is Staffing Up
The North American division of global-capitalism advocate The Economist is looking to expand staff to the tune of 20 new positions, Folio: reports.
Reporters and editors should keep their pants on, though:
The new jobs are primarily in sales, marketing and technical operations. Some titles include a global publisher partnerships director, a director of traffic and lead generation, and a Drupal developer.
Economist Group senior vice president of marketing and new ventures Alan Press told Folio: that recent hires by the company — it recently recruited a senior director of new ventures, a commercial director, a director of new programs and an editorial director — are part of a brand-building initiative that includes events and conferences in North America.
