The Atlantic‘s managing editor Maria Streshinsky has jumped ship and now the D.C.-based publication has wasted no time in posting about the job opening.

Streshinsky helped bring The Atlantic back to profitability, so you’ll have big shoes to fill, but with your experience, it can be done. This role involves overseeing all day-to-day editorial operations of the print magazine and managing a team of 30. You’ll be responsible for managing the flow of copy; overseeing the copy desk and the fact-checking departments; managing editorial budgets; generating story ideas; writing headlines and display copy; an serving as manuscript editor.

To be considered, you should have five to ten years of experience as an editor, as well as a proven track record as an effective manager.
