Texas Judge’s Daughter Outs Him As Abusive, Posts Video Of Him Beating Her On YouTube

Days ago a graphic video of Texas family law judge William Adams beating his daughter with a belt surfaced on YouTube. The video, which was secretly filmed back in 2004 and shows the judge "punishing" his daughter for using the Internet to illegally acquire music and games, has been viewed over 2.3 million times and is, as you can imagine, causing quite a stir. But one of the most surprising twists in this tale is that Judge Adams’ daughter uploaded the video to YouTube on her own. The description on the YouTube video reads as follows: 2004: Aransas County Court-At-Law Judge William Adams took a belt to his own teenage daughter as punishment for using the internet to acquire music and games that were unavailable for legal purchase at the time. She has had ataxic cerebral palsy from birth that led her to a passion for technology, which was strictly forbidden by her father’s backwards views. The judge’s wife was emotionally abused herself and was severely manipulated into assisting the beating and should not be blamed for any content in this video. The judge’s wife has since left the marriage due to the abuse, which continues to this day, and has sincerely apologized and repented for her part and for allowing such a thing, long before this video was even revealed to exist. Judge Williams Adams is not fit to be anywhere near the law system if he can’t even exercise fit judgement as a parent himself. Do not allow this man to ever be re-elected again. His "judgement" is a giant farce. Signed, Hillary Adams, his daughter. Hillary Adams, now 23, told CBS News, "I want my father to get all the help that he can get. He really, really needs it. He’s a broken person, he just needs so much support." This is why she says she took things into her own hands and uploaded the video to YouTube. Her father, on the other hand, still won’t admit to having done anything wrong saying, "In my mind I haven’t done anything wrong other than discipline my child after she was caught stealing." He refused to acknowledge that the beating was excessive, but despite his denial Judge Adams has been receiving death threats as a result of the video. The main issue here is that in Texas, among other states, parents are allowed to spank their children. So while an investigation is under way, it is likely that Adams will not face charges. That being said, his daughter’s goal was not necessarily to get her father arrested, but to get the truth about him out, and it seems to be working. A Facebook page called Don’t Re-Elect Judge William Adams already has over 25,000 likes, and the story has received news coverage from CNN to Time and everything in between. Hillary told Sky News, "I’m experiencing some regret because I just pulled the covers off my own father’s misbehavior after so many people thought he was such a good person. But so many people are also telling me I did the right thing. He’s supposed to be a judge who exercising fit judgement. It had happened before, and had been escalating. I set up a camera, and I caught it." She had been holding onto the video for years but, following what she described on Reddit as "a barrage of harassment from [her] father over the phone," she decided to finally post it.
