Target Testing Digital Manufacturer Coupons in Cartwheel

The addition will allow users to save more money on groceries and other products they purchase at Target stores.

Target has announced it is testing a new feature in its Cartwheel app on iOS and Android, which will allow users to access digital manufacturer coupons within the app. The addition will allow users to save more money on groceries and other products they purchase at Target stores.

The existing Cartwheel app allows shoppers to access a variety of percent off discounts for everything from cereal and milk to clothing, movies and more. With this addition, users will have access to dollar amount discounts as well. For instance, a digital coupon may give users $0.50 off a box of Honey Nut Cheerios.

Unlike the app’s percent off discounts, which can be used multiple times so long as the deals remain active, each digital manufacturer coupon will only be available for a single use.

Target said users have saved more than $475 million with Cartwheel since the app’s launch in 2013. The app allows users to search for deals using text, or by scanning product barcodes while shopping. Users must present their Cartwheel barcode during checkout to receive their savings.
