Kansas City Art Institute is hosting this year’s Woodstock for graphic design, “Another ’60s Revolution,” where Gordon Salchow, Inge Druckery, Hans Allemann and Kathy McCoy will reminisce about the influential design educator Rob Roy Kelly, who ran the school’s program in the 1960’s. We’ve seen McCoy’s presentation on why Kelly’s Swiss teaching methods produced such exceptional graduates, which convinced us that, for a brief groovy moment between blues and BBQ, Kansas City was the design center of the world.
