Sunset Magazine Wraps Up Another Sweet Journalism Gig
How’s this for a Recession era assignment? Over the past year, the editors of Sunset magazine “scouted, snooped, and dozed in hundreds of hotels to find the 25 best for weekend getaways.”
The result is the Menlo Park, CA magazine’s “25 Best Hotels in the West” feature, posted online and adorning the hard copy October issue. Three LA establishments are in this year’s mix:
– Crescent Beverly Hills (“Extra points for fully loaded iPods by the bed”);
– Beverly Hills Hotel (“Old Hollywood at its finest”);
– Pacific Edge Hotel, Laguna Beach, pictured (“If the oceanfront rooms were any closer to the beach, they’d be boats”).
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the 2011 compilation, besides the clever decision (as always) not to rank the entries one through 25, is the inclusion of just one Las Vegas joint.
