Strike Watch: WGA Goes To Viacom

More than 300 WGA East members picketed at Viacom’s 1515 Broadway offices yesterday for their ”first large-scale rally of 2008 in New York City” on a balmy Indian summer’s afternoon. Among the boldface protesters: WGA picket perfect attendance record winner Seth Meyers, 30 Rock scribe Tina Fey, Tom Fontana, Law & Order: SVU’s Richard Belzer, Hotel Rwanda writer Terry George, Law & Order: Criminal Intent writer Charlie Rubin, SNL’s Amy Poehler, author Nick Pileggi and Alan Zweibel, among others.

WGA East spokeswoman Sherry Goldman emails in the strike recap: ”The Late Show With David Letterman writers also provided lunch to the picketers, as did The Colbert Report that sent pizzas to the line.”
