Storify Gets Down to ‘Business’

Storify is expanding its VIP package to new businesses like a mullet in reverse. While publishers put their curated stories on the front page for their readers, other businesses can create private stories to take back to the office.

Launched today, Storify Business includes a lot of the same features available in the VIP package that debuted last month, but this is option comes at a fixed price.

The monthly subscription service enhances the tool’s main function of aggregating status updates, images, and videos from social media sites by protecting the stories with a secure link, which makes them safer to use for reports, internal communications, or research. Companies can customize the embedding tools to match their own design standards.

In addition to the publishers that already use the platform, Storify has also suggested that brands, PR, and advertising agencies use the private stories to “record customer sentiment and conversations from social networks to report on what they are doing.” In this context, the storytelling platform would serve as a “compliment to other tools that use algorithmic approaches to broadly mine consumer sentiment on social networks,” the company said.

The Storify Business package does not come with the real-time updates, custom CSS, and unlimited API access features that are in the VIP package, but it does come with increased support, including priority ticketing.
